Art direction: a moonlit apocalypse

Zombies don't have to be grim. We're leaning into a bright, stylized look: cartoon undead, glowing weapons, neon-lit streets, and an enormous purple moon hanging over it all.

Keeping the violence fantastical rather than graphic isn't just a style choice — it keeps the game approachable for a wider audience and aligns with a friendlier age rating.

We'll share key art and early scenes as the world fills out. The night is looking good.

Building the idle combat loop

The heart of any idle RPG is the loop: fight, earn, upgrade, repeat — and feel meaningfully stronger every time. This month we focused on making that loop satisfying at every session length.

Pop in for thirty seconds and you should walk away with a clear win: a level-up, a new piece of gear, a milestone hit. Settle in for longer and the strategy deepens — which heroes to invest in, when to prestige, how to push the next wave.

We're tuning offline earnings so coming back always feels like a reward, never a chore. More on the prestige system in a future update.

Hello from Midnight Labs

Midnight Labs is officially open. We're a small, independent team with a simple goal: build polished free-to-play mobile games that respect your time and keep getting better after launch.

Our first project is Zombie Invasion Idle RPG — an idle RPG where your squad keeps fighting the undead even while you're away. We'll be sharing progress here as it comes together.
